This painting of an interior scene was juried into a local plein air art show. Plein Air Washington Artists (PAWA) holds a winter show every year, and this year they were asking for art "pairs". One painting done on location (en plein air) and another studio piece, done larger and inspired by the smaller work. Usually plein air paintings are outdoor landscapes or city scenes, however the guidelines stated that interiors were allowed. I submitted some landscape scenes as well, but this one was accepted. You can view this engaging display of paintings by artists from around the state at the the Cole Gallery in Edmonds, WA --now through February 26th.
Here is a link to view the show online, however the paintings are most impressive in person. Thanks for following my art journey in this new year. Wishing you all the best.
Studio piece. 20 x 16 oil
Small painting done en plein air. 8 x 6 gouache
