I've been having fun painting outdoors this summer alongside some wonderful artists. This painting did need extra touch-ups in the studio, especially in editing the many boats lined up on the left. This is when impressionism is on my side. I left a lot of the underpainting show through in the background tree area. I like that it looks like the sun is breaking through the branches. Water and boats are not easy for me, but overall, I was pleased with the finished work. (I was honored to show this work and a few others at the
