9 x 12 We've had the wettest October on record here in the Pacific Northwest, but the other day the sun came out in all it's glory and out I ran to capture the fall colors at Battlepoint Park here on

Bainbridge Island. Using gouache again as my medium, I did this painting in about two hours. In Italian, "alla prima" means "at first attempt." My daughter likes my paintings most when done this way--no overworking in the studio when I get it home--however tempting this is to many artists. It's taking all my powers to NOT go in and brighten a little here, correct a little there, add a few ducks everywhere...!!!
